Last Otakon Tip: Wash, Fanboy, Wash!

Ok, here is the annual plea to you fanboys, a desperate wish that I have for you, hoping that THIS year might be the year you may actually listen…

For the love of all that is holy…BATHE!!! WASH!!! PUT ON DEODERANT!!! WASH YOUR TEETH!!! BREATH MINTS!!! ANYTHING!!! ANYTHING!!!

Here some simple steps to be clean and smell good. When washing your hair and body…yes, that means you have to step into a shower or a bathtub and get wet…do the following with soap and shampoo. Yes, you MUST use shampoo for your hair and soap for your body. Simply getting wet will do nothing more than add the stench of mold to your body odor…here is all you have to do:

1. Wash.
2. Lather.
3. Rinse.
4. Repeat.

For oral hygiene you MUST use a toothbrush and toothpaste. Or at the very least, eat a lot of breath mints during the day.

Fanboy funk is a problem. I have seen on the Otakon message boards of a kid offering to share the costs of the room as long as the other person promises to bathe. Last year, I sat next to a nice enough guy in the AMV contest, but every time he moved, I got a pungent scent of his body. This year, there is no overflow AMV’s, so we know the room is going to be packed for the AMV Contest…I’m dreading the amount of fanboy funk that will fill that room…

Ok, now that Public Service Announcement is out of the way and concludes this year’s Otakon Tips. Now on to some more practical con matters….

As always, I will have my black backpack with me. And I will have, inside of my bag every day, packets of different types of Pocky (click on the link down below for my vlog and you will see what I am putting in there). I will be the large guy with prematurely graying hair and a camera. Find me, and if you let me make a short video of you explaining why you like anime/Otakon, you get to reach in and grab one packet. But find me quickly; I will have only so much Pocky per day!!!

OK, just a couple more things. First, come back here, late on Thursday thru Friday. On either Friday or Saturday will be my picks for the AMV contest. There will be a link to a daily video of Otakon, mostly set to music! Sometime next Tuesday or Wednesday there will be a comprehensive blog about Otakon.
